Preventing the Spread of Respiratory Illness Inside and Outside of the House

Reducing the Risk

With growing COVID-19 cases across the nation, everyone should be taking extra precautions to protect the health and safety of one’s self, family, friends and community. COVID-19 prevention begins in the home and the LA Department of public health has created a guide to remind our community of ways you can prevent respiratory illness in the home.

A few of these recommendations include washing your hands thoroughly and often, reading the labels on cleaning products, cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces. For more information, read the LA Health guideline sheet below.

Reducing the Risk Outside the House

Daily choices you and your family make can help keep yourself and others safe and healthy from the COVID-19 virus. The Department of Public Health has issued an easy to follow guide to show how to reduce your risk of COVID-19 outside of your home.

These tips include avoiding the three C’s: confined spaces, crowds and close contact. East Valley also encourages you wash your hands often, wear a cloth face covering, and be willing to change activities to avoid the three C’s. For more information, visit:
